METRAC’s violence prevention publications have been widely distributed in Toronto and across the country; thousands of our informative resources are distributed annually and posted online.
Over the years, METRAC has published and distributed informative newsletters, bulletins, and reports of activities to keep ourselves accountable to the public.
In 2001, METRAC developed a report on cyberstalking, including safety tips for women. We also developed internet tools for evaluating online resources.
METRAC established Respect in Action (ReAct) in 2001, a unique youth peer-to-peer education program to address violence against women and youth. Ever since, the program has delievered services to thousands of youth, educators, and service providers in Toronto and beyond, and the ReAct model has been reproduced in other communities.
In 2007 and 2008, METRAC launched its award-winning violence prevention video game for children and youth ages 8 to 14, entitled RePlay: Finding Zoe/ReJouer: Où est Zoé?. It was created with the direct input of 250 diverse children from across Ontario.
METRAC launched its blog Megaphone Diaries in 2009, a collaborative effort between volunteers and staff of the organization.
