Fundraising and Community – IAHSS Charity Golf 2026

Our third and final year with IAHSS Ontario's Charity Golf Challenge

This past summer, METRAC was fortunate to have Calvin and Teresa from the IAHSS Ontario Chapter pay a visit to our office and present us with the official fundraising cheque from the 22nd annual IAHSS Charity Golf Challenge.

Braving the intense July heat, 144 golfers and IAHSS affiliates came out to play a round at Gormley’s Station Creek Golf Club, supporting METRAC for our third and final year with the tournament.

“Despite the heat, the vibe of the day was positive and energetic,” said Jaelin Caverhill, METRAC’s fundraising coordinator. “Golfers cope with the early morning real well, as it turns out.”

“I enjoyed many aspects of the day, including the opportunity to speak with people who are passionate about our work to prevent gender-based violence,” said Deborah Hurley-Laing, executive director of METRAC. “The funds raised help to ensure that METRAC can carry out the activities that are needed, but not always funded.”

“From offering safety audit services, to accessible justice resources, to youth-focused leadership programming, the participation and generosity at the IAHSS Ontario chapter will help METRAC respond to the rising needs of the community we serve,” she added.

While July’s Golf Challenge marked METRAC’s final year with the fundraising tournament, our team was fortunate to engage in many enriching conversations with the IAHSS community that have sparked exciting possibilities for future partnerships.

We would like to extend another sincere thank you to the IAHSS Ontario Chapter and all organizers, volunteers and participants for supporting METRAC’s work to build a safer Toronto for women, children and youth.
