METRAC is proud of its partnership with the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) for the screening of Nome Di Donna (The Name of a Woman) during its annual event “Call the Shots: Female Power Through Film”, scheduled for release on International Women’s Day, March 8th, 2019.
METRAC works with individuals, communities and institutions to change ideas, actions, and policies toward the goal of ending gender-based violence against women and youth, trans and non-binary people. We fully endorse the premiere screening of Nome Di Donna (The Name of a Woman). Sexual violence and harassment affect women across the globe from North America, to Europe, to Asia, and Africa. In Canada, more than 90 percent of women have disclosed experiences of sexual harassment in the workplace. Sexual harassment is also a leading factor contributing to why a high percentage of women change jobs. We applaud the film and its producers for shedding light on this important issue in the workplace; and welcome the critical messages conveyed in Nome Di Donna to raise awareness of sexual harassment, gender inequality, and issues of safety at work in the 21st century.
